Sheriff’s arrest Suspect for Weapons and Resisting Arrest

“On Tuesday May 16, 2023, at approximately 0945 hours, the Amador County Sheriff’s office received information that an acquaintance of David Lee Salke Jr had been contracted by CHP in a disabled vehicle on Ione Michigan Bar Road in Sacramento County near the Amador County line. We were also informed that a male subject, who had not been identified, had walked away from the disabled vehicle. Members of the Investigations Bureau and the Amador County Narcotics Enforcement Team responded to check the area. Through questioning the acquaintance it was determined that the male subject who had walked away was in fact David Lee Salke Jr.
With the assistance of CHP canine units and air operations, a search of the area was conducted. Salke was not located at this time. Unmarked vehicles remained in the area and eventually observed Salke walking near a residence close to the intersection of Maxwell and Carbondale Roads. Patrol and Investigations units responded and Salke was taken into custody at approximately 1340 hours without incident. Salke was booked into the Amador County Jail on two outstanding warrants for violating California Penal Code sections 29800(A)(1)- felony convicted felon possessing a firearm, 30605(A) – felony possession of an assault rifle, 33215 – felony prohibited person possessing a firearm, 33215-felony possession of a short barreled rifle, 25850 (C)(1)- felony carrying a loaded firearm in public, 594(a)-felony vandalism, 484(a) misdemeanor petty theft, 836.6(a) – misdemeanor escape from custody, 594(a) – misdemeanor vandalism, 148(a)(1) – misdemeanor resist obstruct or delay a peace officer. Salke will also be facing charges of violating California Vehicle Code sections 2800.2 – felony evading a peace officer, willful disregard, 10851(a) – felony driving or taking a vehicle without consent, and 23103(a) – misdemeanor reckless driving on a highway.”
