Authorities Investigate Possible Murder-Suicide in Colusa County
The Colusa County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation into the recent deaths of two individuals, which is reportedly currently being investigated as a possible murder-suicide.
According to a press release by the Colusa County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement authorities responded to a report of a domestic dispute on the 6700 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Arbuckle just after 12:30 AM on June 7.
The incident reportedly involved multiple victims with stab wounds, prompting an immediate dispatch of Colusa County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and allied agencies.
Upon arrival, responding law enforcement personnel reportedly discovered two individuals, identified as Emma Rosales, 34, and Jose Rosales-Cruz, 35, both residents of Arbuckle, unconscious and critically injured. Life-saving measures were initiated by the authorities while awaiting medical personnel.
Despite the efforts made, Emma Rosales and Jose Rosales-Cruz were pronounced deceased at the scene. The Colusa County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the California Department of Justice Crime Scene Response Unit, has since taken over the investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Preliminary findings indicate that the injuries sustained by Mr. Rosales are believed to be self-inflicted, leading investigators to treat the incident as a murder-suicide. Authorities note that this seems to be an isolated incident, and that there does not appear to be any threats to public safety at this time.
The Colusa County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with additional information regarding this incident to contact them directly at (530) 458-0200.
