Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Announces Multi-Agency “Operation Gold Star” to Combat Gang Violence

The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office has announced, in collaboration with several other law enforcement agencies, the launch of “Operation Gold Star.” The operation has reportedly already resulted in numerous arrests as well as the confiscation of weapons, narcotics, and stolen property.
According to a press release by the Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement recently organized the multi-agency operation in an effort to curb gang violence in and around Tulare County, particularly as the summer begins. The operation focused on conducting probation and parole compliance checks, as well as serving arrest warrants throughout the county.
Over the course of a two-day operation, detectives, along with various law enforcement agencies, carried out 47 probation checks, 57 parole checks, and conducted over 100 traffic stops. The collaborative effort resulted in the arrest of 34 suspects, serving 31 arrest warrants, and issuing citations to three individuals.
The operation reportedly also yielded significant seizures, with law enforcement confiscating 19 firearms, including one stolen vehicle. Additionally, approximately half a pound of methamphetamine and one ounce of cocaine were seized during the operation.
“Operation Gold Star” involved the participation of multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, Porterville Police Department, Visalia Police Department, Exeter Police Department, California Department of Justice, Woodlake Police Department, California Highway Patrol, Lindsay Police Department, Farmersville Police Department, Dinuba Police Department, California Department of Corrections, Tulare Police Department, Tulare County District Attorney Bureau of Investigations, Tulare County Probation, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Homeland Security and Investigations.
The operation spanned the entire Tulare County, encompassing both incorporated cities and rural areas, the Sheriff’s Office said.
