In a world where multiple media sources constantly remind us all of the tenacity of the government’s ability to enforce the law, it seems to defy logic that some people either don’t get the message or are incapable of learning any lessons at all.
That may be an accurate supposition in the case of 19-year-old Santa Maria resident Noe Soria Bedolla, who was arrested just before midnight on Wednesday, June 28th . According to Santa Maria Police Department spokesman Sgt. Nate Totorica, Bedolla’s arrest was made as SMPD SWAT and Detective Bureau teams arrived at his home with search and arrest warrants in hand.
Those warrants had been issued pursuant to an investigation of “a fight involving a firearm” that had taken place at a Santa Maria business on the afternoon of June 24th . It was on that day that cops responded to a call for service reporting a fight involving two groups of individuals, one of whom “had a firearm.” Officers arriving at the scene soon identified Bedolla as the culprit, although he had previously fled the scene. It was then determined that Bedolla was out on bail at the time, having been involved in a “shooting and attempted robbery case” that occurred in October, 2022.
Bedolla was taken into custody on the June 28th arrest warrant and transported to Santa Barbara County Jail, where he was booked on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon, with gang enhancements. He remains in custody on a no-bail hold.
