Davis Woman Arrested on Suspicion of Attempted Murder in Possible Domestic Violence Incident
The Davis Police Department has announced an investigation into, and arrest in connection with, an alleged stabbing that occurred over the weekend.
According to a press release by the Davis Police Department, officers launched an investigation into an alleged stabbing incident. The incident occurred at an apartment complex on the 1800 block of Moore Boulevard on the afternoon of Saturday, July 8. Responding to a report, officers arrived at the scene to find a male victim who had sustained at least one stab wound.
Life-saving measures were initiated by the officers until medical personnel arrived at the location. The injured man was subsequently transported to a Sacramento area hospital, where he underwent surgery to address his injuries. A woman involved in the incident was also injured and was transported to a separate local hospital for medical treatment.
Based on information gathered during the preliminary investigation, officials believe the incident may have been domestic violence-related. All individuals involved in the incident have been identified and are accounted for by the authorities. Detectives and the Evidence Response Team are actively engaged in the ongoing investigation, gathering evidence and conducting interviews.
Following the initial investigation, Lizette Ibarra, a 43-year-old resident of Davis, was booked into the Yolo County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder. The other party involved in the incident remains hospitalized, recovering from surgery.
The Davis Police Department will release further information once the investigation is concluded, and the detectives determine whether any additional arrests will be made.
