In a significant operation targeting drug sales in the Tenderloin district, narcotics investigators executed search warrants for two individuals suspected of narcotics distribution. On June 26, 2023, the investigators obtained search warrants for 25-year-old Elthon Turcios-Hernandez and 22-year-old Jeffry Turcios-Hernandez, both residents of Oakland. Subsequently, search warrants were also obtained for a residence in Oakland and a vehicle associated with the suspects.

On June 28, 2023, officers from the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) Narcotics Detail located Elthon and Jeffry near the intersection of O’Farrell and Polk Street. With probable cause established, the subjects were arrested without incident and taken into custody. During a search of Elthon, officers discovered narcotics packaged for sale, leading to the seizure of substantial quantities of illicit substances.

The seized items from Elthon’s possession included:

  • 128.5 grams of suspected fentanyl
  • 20.8 grams of suspected cocaine salt
  • 29.4 grams of suspected cocaine base
  • 35.3 grams of suspected methamphetamine
  • 36.7 grams of suspected heroin
  • 9.8 grams of suspected oxycodone pills

Shortly after the arrests, officers executed a search warrant at a residence located on the 1700 block of 78th Avenue in Oakland. While five adults were initially detained, they were later released. During the search, officers located and seized additional narcotics and a significant amount of cash believed to be connected to drug sales.

The items seized during the residence search included:

  • 52.8 grams of suspected cocaine salt
  • 60.3 grams of suspected cocaine base
  • 61.3 grams of suspected heroin
  • 22.0 grams of suspected oxycodone pills
  • $1,290 in U.S. currency

Elthon Turcios-Hernandez was subsequently transported to San Francisco County Jail #1, where he was booked on multiple charges, including possession of methamphetamine for sale (11378 HS), possession of a controlled substance for sale (11351 HS), possession of cocaine base for sale (11351.5 HS), transportation of controlled substances (11352(a) HS), transportation of methamphetamine (11379(a) HS), and conspiracy (182(a) PC).

Similarly, Jeffry Turcios-Hernandez was transported to San Francisco County Jail #1 and booked on charges identical to those of Elthon Turcios-Hernandez.

While these arrests mark a significant step forward, the investigation remains active. The San Francisco Police Department urges anyone with information regarding this case to contact the 24-hour Tip Line at 1-414-575-4444 or Text a Tip to TIP411, beginning the text message with “SFPD.” Informants may choose to remain anonymous, and any information provided could prove vital to the investigation.
