Corona PD Weekly Crime Update: July 17th to July 24th

“Good morning, Corona residents!
We want to keep you informed about recent activities of your police department. Here’s a summary of the incidents our officers responded to from Monday, July 17th, 7:00 am, to Monday, July 24th, 7:00 am:
Calls for service: Our officers attended a total of 2,358 incidents, including 118 alarm calls, 34 area checks, 114 disturbance calls, 132 property checks, and 51 welfare checks.
Arrests: We arrested 79 individuals involved in various offenses during this period.
Incident highlights:
On July 17th, at 7:47 am, officers conducted a vehicle stop at Ontario Avenue and State Street for a vehicle code violation. The driver, Alejandro Ornelas (37 years old of Corona), was on formal probation for narcotics and firearms violations. During a search of his vehicle, officers located over 1,000 rounds of ammunition, over 1,000 M80 fireworks, several illegal bladed weapons, drug paraphernalia, and burglary tools. Ornelas was arrested for possessing these items, as well as being a previously convicted felon in possession of ammunition.
On July 18th, at 10:50 am, officers located a stolen and unoccupied Kia Sorento in the parking lot of 300 North McKinley Street. While watching the Kia, officers observed a Chevrolet Malibu parked directly next to it. A male, later identified as Ryan Inacio (33 years old of San Jacinto), exited the driver’s seat and walked into a nearby store. Officers inspected the Chevrolet and discovered it was reported stolen out of Banning. When Inacio returned to the Chevrolet, he was contacted by officers. A search of Inacio revealed he possessed the key fob for the Chevrolet, and he was currently on formal probation for burglary. There was also a felony warrant for Inacio’s arrest for burglary. Additionally, officers located fourteen grams of methamphetamine in the Chevrolet. Inacio was arrested for possession of the stolen Chevrolet, the narcotics, the warrant, and violating his probation.
On July 20th, at 8:07 pm, officers conducted a traffic stop of a Mercedes in the area of Fifth Street and Joy Street for a vehicle code violation. The driver, identified as Richard Vivanco (61 years old of Corona), continued driving a short distance and stopped after he threw an unknown object out of the driver’s window. Vivanco was currently on post-release community service (PRCS) for selling narcotics. Officers located several grams of heroin and methamphetamine, as well as evidence of narcotics sales on Vivanco’s person and in his vehicle. Some of the contraband was located inside a faux soda can. Vivanco was arrested for narcotics sales and violating the terms of his PRCS.
On July 20th, at 1:51 pm, officers responded to a call of a robbery that occurred at Vons located at 535 North McKinley Street. Upon arrival, it was discovered the suspect, identified as Brittani Dimuccio (34 years old of Eastvale), had fought with an employee and injured him during a theft. Dimuccio fled the location before the officers arrived. On July 21st, at 6:40 pm, another officer saw Dimuccio in the area of Home Depot located at 1355 East Ontario Avenue. He recognized Dimuccio as being wanted for the robbery and attempted to stop her. Dimuccio pulled away from the officer during the arrest and attempted to flee before she was tasered and safely taken into custody. Dimuccio was arrested for the robbery and fleeing from law enforcement.
On July 23rd, at 7:36 pm, officers were dispatched to a call of a vehicular assault in the area of Wimbledon Drive and Buchanan Street. Three subjects were contacted in the street, and it was discovered Ricardo Medina (30 years old of Corona) used his vehicle to repeatedly hit a vehicle his ex-girlfriend was in, eventually causing both vehicles to become disabled. Medina then attacked both occupants of the disabled vehicle, hitting both of them. Medina was arrested for the assaults.
