“On Monday, July 24, 2023, a man called to report he was sexually assaulted by his friend, Denair resident Darrin Allen. The 25-year-old met at Allen’s home the evening before to hang out. During that time, both men consumed alcohol, and the victim fell asleep. Between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. Monday morning, the man woke up to Allen sexually assaulting him. Due to being under the influence of alcohol, he could not stop Allen.
The 56-year-old Denair Unified School District employee was located and arrested by detectives after he admitted to the sexual assault. Investigators determined the two men knew one another because the victim was a prior student of Allen’s. There is no reason to believe a crime occurred on any school campus or with juveniles.
Allen was booked at the Stanislaus County Jail for sexual battery of an unconscious person and oral copulation of an unconscious person. He was released from jail Tuesday morning after posting bail of $125,000.”
