According to a press release by the Sheriff’s Office, dispatch received a distress call from a 66-year-old adult male reporting a trespassing and brandishing of a firearm incident in the 31000 block of Highway 20 on the morning of Tuesday, August 1. The victim informed the 911 operator that he had been shot at by the suspect, later identified as 35-year-old Vladimir Ginzburg.
Deputies responded to the scene and found the victim seeking refuge behind a pickup in his own driveway, armed with a rifle. The victim reported that Ginzburg had fired multiple rounds, striking his residence. As the deputies arrived, Ginzburg allegedly fired additional shots at the victim.
The deputies reportedly were able to pinpoint Ginzburg’s last known location, which was a residence west of the victim’s property.
