Mariposa County Man Faces Felony Charges for Alleged Animal Neglect

“Yesterday Sheriff Deputies arrested 25 year old Malik Nickelberry on felony charges of animal neglect, PC 597 and child endangerment, PC 273(A).
Animal Control Officers seized multiple malnourished and neglected dogs from the residence including several puppies. Many of the animals weighed less than half what a healthy weight should be.
The dog and puppies were seized by Animal Control Officers where they are expected to make a full recovery.
The Sheriff’s Office is partnering with Friends of the Animal Community (FOAC) to help with an extensive rehabilitation and health and recovery. We will keep you updated on their progress.
