Late on the night of October 20, 2022, 33-year-old Santa Maria resident Adelberto Moises Gabino was gunned down while driving through a city intersection.
According to Santa maria Police Department spokesman Lt. Daniel Rios, the immediately ensuing investigation, which painstakingly required the resources of multiple local law enforcement agencies, ultimately led to the identification of Santa Maria residents Armando Fuentes Chagolla , Irvin Yair Gabino, and Noe Soria Bedolla, each 19 years old.
On July 21st, arrest warrants for each suspect were obtained and served on Gabino and Bedolla at their current place of residence, the Santa Barbara County Jail, where they were held “for unrelated offenses.” Their additional charges include murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and gang enhancements. Just after midnight that day the Santa Maria Police Department Detective Bureau in collaboration with the Santa Maria Police Department SWAT Team showed up at the home of Chagolla and took him into custody “without encountering any resistance.” He was transported to Santa Barbara County Jail, where he was booked on charges of felony vandalism, possession of a firearm as a gang member, murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and additional gang enhancements.
All three men individuals are currently held in custody with a bail amount set at $2 million dollars each.
