“Our Wildland Public Safety Engagement Team (PSET) was checking for homeless encampments near the river bottom behind Anza Narrows park today and found one with several guns inside and two homeless people.
It turned out that these two rifles and one of the three handguns were pellet guns, but the other two were working firearms. It also turned out they had suspected methamphetamine and the man was a convicted felon. Both were subsequently arrested and booked into jail for weapons and narcotics violations.
The Wildland PSET Team consists of @riversidepolicedepartment, @cityofriversidefiredepartment, and the @cityofriverside Office of Homeless Solutions. Great work today and everyday!”
