Suspected Burglar Arrested while Allegedly Possessing Drugs for Sale

WALNUT CREEK — Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested a man suspected of committing multiple burglaries and for alleged drug dealing. Jarvis L. Ferguson, 40, of Pittsburg, is in custody in lieu of $235,000 bond.
Ferguson was placed under arrest on August 2nd near Crossroads Shopping Center in Pleasant Hill. Now he is behind bars at the West County Detention Facility in Richmond. Charges involving separate incidents have been filed against him.
The suspect has been linked to commercial burglaries primarily in downtown Walnut Creek, between July 16th and July 24th. Restaurants and a hair salon were robbed during nonbusiness hours. Evidence collected from the crime scenes led investigators to identify Ferguson as the suspect.
Ferguson faces charges for multiple burglaries, grand theft and vandalism exceeding $400. His charges include seven counts involving second-degree burglary. He also faces charges for six counts of grand theft of property.
The same man is suspected of committing more crimes, shortly before he was apprehended by sheriff’s office detectives. In another criminal case, he faces charges for possession of cocaine and methamphetamine for sale at the time of his arrest. His drug charges involve two separate counts.
