Authorities from the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office launched a thorough investigation on August 14, 2023, into a distressing case of sexual assault that transpired in the vicinity of Cool. According to official reports, a female victim came forward and disclosed a harrowing ordeal involving a sexual assault accompanied by severe physical abuse and unlawful confinement.
The victim’s courageous report prompted rapid action from the dedicated detectives of the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office. The law enforcement officials promptly obtained a search warrant and initiated searches across various locations, including a residential area in Roseville. It was during these searches that the primary suspect, Joshua Slaughter, was successfully located and apprehended by the authorities.
