A Yolo County man has reportedly been arrested in connection with a recent assault in Knights Landing.
According to a press release by the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office, sheriff’s detectives, along with the Yolo County Regional SWAT team, carried out a high-risk search warrant on August 25 at an apartment complex on the 200 block of Court Street in Woodland.
The search warrant was secured in connection with an investigation into an alleged violent assault committed earlier that same week in Knights Landing. The victim in the case had suffered significant injuries which required hospitalization.
In the course of serving the warrant, law enforcement officers effectively apprehended 39-year-old Woodland resident Jeffrey Card.
Card was taken into custody and booked at the Yolo County jail without incident. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
It was unclear at press time whether Card had retained an attorney.
All persons arrested on suspicion of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
