Madera County Man Arrested for Allegedly Discharging Firearm

“On 08/22/2023, at approximately 1841 hours, Officers of the Chowchilla Police Department were dispatched to the area of the 300 Myer Drive apartments to a report of shots being fired in the area.
Officers arrived on scene and were able to get a description of the subject and the area he possibly fled to. Officers pursued the subject on foot and located 27-year-old Tyrique Lott behind the country wood shopping center, who Officers were able to identify from an earlier call for service.
He was detained and as the investigation was conducted, a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun was located in the area where Lott was detained.
Lott was later found to be a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and ammo. An empty shell casing was also located in the area witnesses stated Lott fired a round into the air, approximately 80 feet from an apartment.
Lott was later booked into Madera County Jail for criminal threats, discharging a firearm in a residential area in a negligent manner, prohibited person in possession of a firearm and ammo and possession of an unregistered firearm.”
