“On July 28, 2023, Corona PD handled a burglary of a business at the 1400 block of W. Sixth Street. A detective determined that Charles Billings, a 46-year-old male from Riverside was the suspect and discovered he is currently on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) for burglary.
Yesterday, the detective spotted Billings in Corona and directed a patrol officer to conduct a traffic stop on him. As luck would have it, officers found stolen property in Billings’ vehicle from a business burglary that occurred just a couple hours prior.
Billings was arrested and taken to the Corona PD jail for processing. Meanwhile, detectives went to Billings’ residence in Riverside where they recovered stolen property from the July burglary. He was sent to Riverside County Jail for the two burglary cases and violation of his PRCS terms.
As it turns out, Billings is no stranger to the justice system. He has been convicted in 35 separate cases and sentenced to over 27 years in jail/prison. His offenses include burglary, robbery, possession of illegal weapons, various narcotic offenses, and resisting arrest. Included in those cases are six separate convictions for burglary or attempted burglary in just the last two years.
We will continue to do our job and arrest those few criminals who continually prey on our residents and hard-working business owners.”
