Three Arrested in Connection with Recent Armed Robberies in San Joaquin County

The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested three individuals in connection to two alleged armed robberies.
According to a press release by the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded on the afternoon of Monday, September 4, to a report of a taco truck having been robbed at gunpoint in the Thornton area, north of San Joaquin County. Responding deputies were shortly thereafter made aware of a second report of another armed robbery in the area of Highway 12 and I-5, near Flag City.
The victims in each incident provided law enforcement with descriptions of the suspects and an associated vehicle, information which was then shared with all law enforcement agencies in the surrounding area. Just minutes later, the California Highway Patrol located the suspect vehicle and conducted a vehicle stop on Highway 12 near Ray Road, police said.
The suspects were positively identified by the victims shortly thereafter, police said. They are identified as 20-year-old Julian Holguin of Stockton, 34-year-old Rita Trevino of Lodi, and a 17-year-old juvenile whose name has been kept confidential.
All three were taken into custody on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy, among other charges.
The juvenile suspect was reportedly already on probation and wearing an ankle monitor, which their Probation Officer later verified placed them at the scene of both robberies. The ankle monitor also reportedly placed them at the location of a third alleged robbery in Lodi.
It was unclear at press time whether any of the suspects had retained attorneys.
All persons arrested on suspicion of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
