A Madera County man has been arrested on various charges included attempted murder on a peace officer and residential burglary.
According to a press release by the Madera County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 28000 block of Avenue 15 after receiving a report of a suspicious individual who had been captured on home security cameras breaking into a residence.
Deputies arrived at the scene to discover the suspect sitting in a Ford F250 pickup truck. Upon seeing the deputies, the suspect allegedly used the truck to ram the iron gate on the property as well as one of the deputies’ patrol cars, nearly wounding a deputy in the process.
The collision ultimately rendered the truck inoperable, and the suspect — identified as 28-year-old Anthony Angel Carrillo — was taken into custody without further incident, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Carrillo was booked at the Madera County jail on suspicion of attempted murder of a peace officer, residential burglary, vandalism, and motor vehicle theft.
