Burger King Robbery Suspect Reportedly Identified as Former Employee
A Trinity County man has been arrested for allegedly robbing a Burger King in Weaverville.
According to a press release by the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office, a robbery occurred at the Burger King located in Trinity Plaza on Main Street at around 8 PM on Friday, September 22. The suspect, who concealed their identity with gloves and a mask, left the scene on foot before deputies arrived. Despite search efforts, law enforcement was unable to apprehend the suspect.
Authorities soon thereafter identified the suspect as 27-year-old Andrew Delgado, a former employee. On Sunday, September 24, deputies located and detained Delgado. During this contact, he was found in possession of items believed to be linked to the robbery, as well as narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Delgado was arrested on suspicion of robbery, possession of a controlled substance, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, and violation of a court order. He was booked at the Trinity County jail.
It was unclear at press time whether Delgado had retained an attorney. All persons arrested on suspicion of a crime are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
