Fatal Assault Occurs in Moreno Valley Home, Suspect in Custody

In the early hours of October 5, 2023, at approximately 1:15 a.m., deputies from the Sheriff’s Moreno Valley Station responded to a distressing call concerning an assault with a deadly weapon in the 22900 block of Chambray Drive in Moreno Valley. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a male victim with multiple sharp force injuries. Although paramedics were swiftly on the scene, the victim tragically succumbed to his injuries at the location.
Law enforcement promptly took into custody a male suspect found within the residence. Deputies immediately secured the area as a crime scene, initiating an investigation conducted by the Sheriff’s Moreno Valley Station. Subsequently, the Central Homicide Unit was called in to take over the ongoing investigation.
The victim has been identified as 41-year-old Adam Collier, a resident of Moreno Valley. The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Demetrius Windom, also hails from Moreno Valley. Both the victim and the suspect resided at the residence where this tragic incident unfolded.
As of now, this investigation remains active, and no further details are available for release at this time.
