A San Mateo man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his coworker multiple times during an argument.
According to a press release by the San Mateo Police Department, officers responded on Tuesday, October 10, to the intersection of 36th Avenue and Hacienda Street to investigate a report of an individual having been stabbed multiple times.
Officers found the victim bleeding from stab wounds on his leg and arm and applied tourniquets to stop the bleeding. The victim was then taken to a local hospital for treatment. His injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
The suspect was identified as the victim’s coworker, 61-year-old Robert Ridenour, who was reportedly still on scene when police arrived.
Others at the scene told officers that Ridenour and the victim had gotten into a verbal argument, and that the argument had eventually escalated to Ridenour allegedly grabbing a knife and stabbing the victim multiple times. Other coworkers were able to separate the two and call 9-1-1.
Ridenour was ultimately arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
