Placerville Man Arrested for Alleged Fatal Stabbing of Partner

On October 5th, at 1834 hours the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office responded to Prado Vista Ln, Placerville, Ca for report of stabbing that had occurred. When Deputies arrived, they located a female that was deceased in a residence. At a neighboring residence, a male was located suffering from traumatic wounds. The male was transported to an area hospital. At this time, the investigation is ongoing. Further information will be provided when it is available.
**** INVESTIGATION UPDATE *****
Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators from the El Dorado County Sheriff’s continue, to investigate the incident that occurred on Prado Vista Ct. At this point the investigation has been determined a homicide. The victim of the homicide has been positively identified by El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Coroner Detectives as 36 year old, Cristina Lee Humlick of Prado Vista Ct. The associated male remains in stable condition. There are no outstanding persons of interest and no threat to the community. Due to the nature of the investigation, there is no further information that can be provided at this time. As more information becomes available an update will be provided.

Michael Thompson, 43 years old, of Prado Vista Ct. has been arrested in the murder of his girlfriend Cristina Lee Humlick. Thompson was arrested for the following charge: Murder 187(A) PC with an enhancement for Use of a Deadly Weapon under 12022(b)(1) PC. Thompson will be booked into the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Jail, Placerville pending his release from the hospital.
