“The Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team (SCCACT) confiscates close to 6 pounds of cocaine and firearms.
Yesterday, agents from SCCACT, with the assistance of investigators from the Auto Theft Task Force (S.C.A.R.E.), executed a narcotics search warrant on a drug trafficker identified as Oscar Madriz at a residence located on the 100 block of Stephen Rd in Aptos. During the execution of the search warrant, CHP K9 Officer Rae assisted by conducting a sniff inside the residence and gave a positive alert to the odor of narcotics. During the search, SCCACT agents recovered several firearms, over $62,000, close to 6 pounds of cocaine (Street value of over $160,000), heroin, 2 cash counters, and a large amount of illegal fireworks.
Oscar Madriz was arrested on multiple felony charges.
Additionally, while executing the search warrant, investigators from S.C.A.R.E. (a multiagency task force consisting of CHP, Watsonville Police Department, Santa Cruz County SO, DMV investigations, and the Santa Cruz District Attorney’s Office) located a stolen vehicle parked on Stephen Rd.”
