Convicted Felons Arrested with Loaded Assault Weapon in Tulare County

“Around 6:45 p.m. on November 1, 2023, the Tulare County Agencies Regional Gun Violence Enforcement Team Task Force (TARGET) with the assistance of the Tulare Police Department Crimes Specific Unit, arrested 38-year-old Jazmine Dailey and 38-year-old Darrell Dillihunt in the 900 block of West Inyo Avenue in Tulare. Dillihunt is a convicted felon who is known to carry firearms.
As detectives searched the suspect’s vehicle, a loaded assault weapon was found.
Dillihunt has an arrest record for assault with a deadly weapon with the use of a firearm on a peace officer. He was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm, ammunition, and an assault weapon. Dailey was arrested for two active felony warrants and for being a felon in possession of a firearm, ammunition and an assault weapon.
The TARGET Task Force, with the assistance from the Special Enforcement Unit Officers from the Visalia Police Department, obtained and served a search warrant at the home of Dillihunt and Dailey. Over 50 rounds of live ammunition were seized from the home.
Both felons were booked at the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Detention Facility.
This case will be submitted to the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office for review and
consideration of criminal prosecution.
