“A traffic stop on a driver who ran a red traffic light ended with officers arresting four people, seizing a loaded gun from a 13-year-old, 92 grams of cocaine and nearly 20 grams of marijuana.
This incident unfolded on E. Beach and Main Street when an officer on patrol saw a white Nissan sedan fail to stop at a red-light traffic signal.
Immediately after the driver, 21-year-old Diana Tellez pulled over, two passengers got out of the car and fled. A third passenger, 13 years of age, stayed at the scene and was found with a loaded firearm in his waistband and marijuana.
Officers later located the two suspects who fled. 19-year-old Manuel Galvan, an active probationer, had a bag with 92 grams of cocaine, a scale, and cash. A 17-year-old was found with 10 grams of marijuana and tobacco products.
The driver was subsequently arrested for driving on a suspended license for a prior DUI arrest. Galvan was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail and the teens were taken to Juvenile Hall.”
