WALNUT CREEK— A 27-year-old man with prior felony convictions allegedly committed two recent robberies. The suspect had in his possession a semi-automatic rifle and ammunition when he was placed under arrest on November 13.
Malcom A. Hale was arrested by Walnut police detectives and the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office. The Central County SWAT team executed a search warrant at the residence where he was found in Fairfield.
Hale is at the Martinez Detention Facility. He was booked for two counts of robbery and two counts of conspiracy to commit crime. He was also booked for felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and possession of an assault weapon.
The suspect is accused of committing one robbery on November 3. The victim was robbed at the Burger King parking lot at 1799 North Broadway in Walnut Creek. He is also the suspect in a November 8 robbery at Autopia Car Wash, 2172 North Main Street in Walnut Creek.
Earlier this year Hale was convicted in Alameda County for possession of a firearm by a felon. He has prior arrests for robbery, carrying a concealed loaded firearm, and conspiracy to commit crime. Plus, he has arrests on his record for battery and possession of a machine gun.
