“On November 4th, 2023, about 10:40 PM, Marina Officers were dispatched to a report of a vehicle collision in the area of Imjin Parkway and Preston Drive. Upon arrival, officers learned that there were three vehicles involved. The driver of a red Dodge Durango was reported to have fled the area on foot prior to police arrival. The driver of a silver Toyota 4-Runner sustained minor injuries after both driver side tires were sheared off of the vehicle. The driver was treated at the scene.
After the collision investigation was completed, officers remained in the area to look for the suspect driver who had fled on foot. About 12:41 AM, an officer spotted the suspect along Imjin Parkway and gave chase on foot into the wooded area west of Imjin Parkway. The suspect was able to get away. At 2:00 AM, daylight savings time ended and Marina officers went back in time one hour to 1:00 AM. About 1:03 AM, another officer spotted the suspect. A perimeter was established and the suspect was captured in the 3000 block of Lexington Court without incident.
30 year old Arturo Noel Porraz II of Salinas was found to have been driving with a blood alcohol content over .08%. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained prior to being arrested. He was then booked into the Monterey County Jail for violation of 23153(a) CVC, Felony DUI; 23153(b), Felony DUI w/BAC over .08%; 20001(a) CVC, Felony Hit and Run; 148(a)(1) PC, Delay/Obstruct an Officer and 1203.2(a) CVC, Violation of Probation.
