“In August 2023, patrol officers responded to a subject who overdosed on fentanyl. Chino PD Detectives investigated the case and were able to identify the subject who sold the fentanyl to the victim just hours prior to the overdose. A detective assigned to a federal narcotics task force worked with the US Attorney’s office to obtain a federal arrest warrant for the suspect, and a search warrant for his residence in Moreno Valley.
On November 8th, Reyes Leon Meza, 43 years old was arrested for distribution of fentanyl resulting in death. During a search of his residence approximately 15,000 fentanyl pills, a loaded firearm, and over $60,000 in cash were seized. Meza was booked on federal charges and if convicted, he faces close to 30 years in federal prison.”
