Merced PD: Warrant Issued for 7-11 Robbery Suspect

Merced – Darrion Wayne Murphy (21) has been identified as the gunman in a robbery that occurred at a 7-11 convenience store in Merced. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
On November 14, 2023, at approximately 3:07 A.M., the Merced Police Department received a call from a man stating he was shot in the chest at the 7-11 located at 2255 E. Gerard Ave in Merced.
Officers quickly responded to the location and met with the victim who was identified as the store clerk. The victim was transported to a regional trauma center and is in stable condition.
Detectives viewed video surveillance from inside the store which captured the shooting. Murphy entered the store and was armed with a handgun. He pointed the handgun at the clerk while demanding money. Once an undisclosed amount of money was removed from the register, Murphy shot the clerk one time in the chest and fled from the area on a bicycle.
Detectives have been following up on all leads are asking for public assistance from anyone who knows the whereabouts of Murphy.
