“Our night shift was alerted to a stolen vehicle in the area of N. Oak Park and Atlantic Ave. They responded, searched the area and located a red Hyundai Elantra in the Vons parking lot. Earlier in the week, they had received information about the same vehicle and a description of the male who had stolen the vehicle.
While officers were inspecting the car they saw a male, who matched the description, walk out of the store. Officers gave commands to stop but the suspect fled the scene on foot. Officers gave chase and located the suspect hiding under a bush in a nearby housing complex. The suspect again ran and officers followed. Ultimately, the officers caught up to the suspect and were able to take him into custody without incident.
Ryan Soqui 37, of Grover Beach was booked at the SLO County jail.
Great job to our officers who worked hard and ran fast! And thank you to our neighbors at Arroyo Grande Police Department who assisted!”
