In the early morning hours of November 13, 2023, a routine patrol by a deputy in the vicinity of Highway 88 near Dew Drop Bypass in Pioneer resulted in a traffic enforcement stop, leading to the discovery of a stolen handgun, ammunition, and a significant quantity of suspected methamphetamine.

Around 3:30 am, the deputy initiated the traffic stop on a silver Ford Explorer. Following an investigation and interaction with the vehicle’s occupants, the deputy proceeded to search the vehicle. The search uncovered a stolen handgun, along with associated ammunition. Additionally, authorities discovered over 62 grams of suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and evidence indicative of drug sales.
