Hollister Police Investigate Reported Shooting on Westside Boulevard
Hollister police have opened an investigation into a recent shooting that they believe may be gang-related.
According to a press release by the Hollister Police Department, law enforcement units were dispatched to Westside Boulevard, between Apricot and C Street, in response to a reported shooting late on the afternoon of Monday, December 4.
Police say that a silver sedan pulled up beside another vehicle, occupied by two individuals. Following a verbal exchange, the occupants of the silver vehicle allegedly brandished a handgun and discharged multiple rounds into the adjacent vehicle.
One of the occupants in the targeted vehicle suffered minor injuries due to falling glass debris, police said.
The suspects involved in the incident reportedly appeared to be juveniles, and police believe the shooting may have been gang-related. Authorities urge anyone with information relevant to the case to contact either 9-1-1 or 831-636-4331.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
