Butte County Sheriff’s Office Searching for Man Wanted on Felony Child Abuse Warrant

At approximately 3:30 this afternoon, BCSO deputies conducted a traffic stop near 4th and Chestnut Streets in Chico, for a vehicle being driven by Ted Hingst, age 33 of Paradise, who has a felony warrant for his arrest for child abuse. Hingst did not stop and deputies pursued the vehicle for a short distance, before Hingst exited the vehicle and took off on foot. Deputies are actively looking for Hingst. He is described as a white male adult, 6’1”, 215 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
