Arrest Made in Riverside Convenience Store Armed Robbery Spree

“On August 26th at approximately 3:56 a.m., a male suspect wearing a clown mask and armed with a handgun robbed the Circle K store, located in the 1600 block of Main Street in the Northside neighborhood of Riverside. Then on September 2nd at approximately 2:41 a.m., this suspect robbed the same store again at gunpoint. Five days later on September 7th, he robbed the 7-11 store, located in the 1100 block of West La Cadena Drive in Riverside.
Detectives with the Robbery – Homicide Unit were assigned these investigations and immediately began following up on leads. During their investigation, they identified the suspect as 23-year-old Jesse James Swanson of Riverside. They also learned the identity of his accomplice driving the getaway vehicle as 56-year-old Daniel William Clark of Riverside.
On November 15th, Clark was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for conspiracy, weapons violations, and robbery. Detectives located a firearm at the time of Clark’s arrest.
With assistance from our Problem Oriented Policing Team, Swanson was located and arrested on December 13th. He was later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for armed robbery, weapons violations, and possession of stolen property. He is being held on $100,000 bail.
