Teen Vandals Arrested After Allegedly Damaging Multiple Vehicles

“Last night, on Thursday December 21st, at about 6:00 in the evening a deputy took a report of a vandalized vehicle in the area of Carter Street in Tuolumne City. The victim called reporting someone had just shot out the window of his vehicle with a BB gun. At about 6:45p.m a second caller reported the driver’s side window of her vehicle had been broken. The driver was later contacted and reported she believed her vehicle’s window had also been shot by a BB gun.
Later in the evening, around 8:30p.m., Deputy Favela was on patrol in the area of Mono Way near Sanguinetti Road when he saw a green Toyota Rav4 matching the description of the Rav4 seen in the surveillance images. Deputy Favela made traffic stop on the vehicle in the area of Mono Way and Greenley Road and contacted the driver, 18-year-old Jacob Demuth of Twain Harte and passenger, 19-year-old Mickey Brewer-Bertola of Sonora.
Demuth and Brewer-Bertola were detained while deputies searched the vehicle. While searching the vehicle deputies found a metal rod, two pistol-styled BB guns and BBs. Through Deputy Favela’s investigation he was able to get a statement from the suspects admitting they had vandalized multiple vehicles within the county.
Demuth and Brewer-Bertola were arrested and transported to the Dambacher Detention Center (DDC) where they were booked on charges of felony vandalism and felony conspiracy to commit a crime.
Later that evening and continuing into this morning, Friday December 22nd, an additional 6 reports of vandalisms to vehicle windows in the area of Tuolumne City and Jamestown have been made. These cases are still actively being investigated.

**Help us Identify Vandalism Suspects/ Suspects’ Vehicle**
On Sunday December 17th, 2023, deputies responded to multiple reports of vandalized vehicles in the areas of Fifth Street, Ninth Street and Sierra Avenue in Jamestown. In each case, windows of vehicles had been smashed by an object causing them to break or shatter. All the victims reported they believed the incident occurred the prior evening (Saturday) and two victims reported they heard a loud noise the night before, Saturday December 16th, 2023, between the hours of 9p.m and 10p.m.
Through investigation deputies were able to obtain video surveillance of one of the vandalisms. The surveillance video showed multiple subjects in the suspect vehicle. One subject is seen exiting the vehicle with an object and striking the windows of a victim’s vehicle. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a 1997 green Toyota Rav4.
We are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspects’ involved in this incident.
