Police Investigate Christmas Day Shooting in Mountain View
Police are investigating an incident in which a 6-year-old boy and adult male were both injured in a shooting on Christmas.
According to a department press release, Mountain View dispatch received reports of a child being shot on the 900 block of Clark Avenue at around 8:30 PM on Monday, December 25. Responding officers found the child with a gunshot wound to his lower body. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to fully recover. The adult male also sustained a an injury to his lower body that was found not to be life-threatening.
Investigators reportedly believe that at least one person discharged a firearm into the residence before fleeing the scene. Despite an extensive search, no suspects have been apprehended as of December 27.
Detectives are actively pursuing leads in the case, and more information will be shared as it becomes available. At present, the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
