Man with Robbery and DV Warrants Arrested after Police Pursuit in San Joaquin County

“On December 27th, deputies observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed near the intersection of Cherokee Road and Wilson Way in Stockton. They attempted to initiate a traffic stop. However, the driver failed to yield, and a pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, the driver drove recklessly, disregarding the public’s safety. He was also observed throwing an item out of the window that was later identified as a loaded firearm. The pursuit ended after the vehicle crashed into a parked car near the intersection of Sierra Nevada St and Roosevelt St in Stockton. The driver, Meccaion Fields, was taken into custody and found to have multiple felony warrants for Robbery and Domestic Violence. Meccaion was booked into our jail for his outstanding warrants and fresh charges of felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, evading a peace officer, and false identification to a peace officer.”
