“On January 15, 2024, the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) received a 911 call reporting a concerning incident involving a seven-year-old who had ingested LSD. Deputies promptly responded to the call and initiated a thorough investigation into the matter.
Upon examination, it was determined that the substance was illegally possessed by the father, 38-year-old Michael Ontiveros of Greenville. The LSD had been stored in a manner that allowed access by the juvenile. The child was quickly transported to a nearby medical center and is reportedly in good health as of today.
Efforts to locate Michael Ontiveros were undertaken but have thus far yielded negative results. We have compiled all pertinent information and submitted comprehensive reports to the Plumas County District Attorney’s Office for review. On January 18, 2024, Plumas County District Attorney David Hollister filed a one count complaint against Mr. Ontiveros alleging he committed the crime of felony child abuse. A formal warrant was subsequently issued for Michael’s arrest.
Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our community members, especially the vulnerable juveniles. We are committed to thoroughly investigating this matter and ensuring that justice is served.
If you have any information regarding this case or the whereabouts of Michael Ontiveros, please contact the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office at 530-283-6300.
The PCSO will continue to collaborate with the Plumas County District Attorney’s Office to resolve this matter.”
