West Sacramento PD Makes Arrest in Connection with Fatal Shooting

“UPDATE: Detectives have arrested the subject responsible for the shooting death last night. After much collaboration, an arrest was made with additional charges for possession of a handgun by a prohibited person, as well as on an active Felony warrant unrelated to this case for possessing a gun as a prohibited person.
Awesome job by Patrol and Detectives on quickly working towards resolution on this case, making an arrest in less than 24 hours.

Last night, at around 10:30 pm, officers responded to a call reporting a shooting in the 1700 block of West Capital Ave. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive victim with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was promptly transported to a local hospital, where despite efforts, they succumbed to their injuries. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection to this incident. The case remains an active and ongoing investigation.
Officers are diligently working to gather all pertinent information, and further updates will be provided as they become available.”
