Basketball Team Head Coach, Two Students Arrested in Connection with Sex Crimes Investigation
The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office is reportedly investigating alleged sex crimes involving more than one student on a local high school basketball team.
According to a press release by the Sheriff’s Office, investigators have arrested two juveniles in connection with multiple alleged sex crimes between students on the Mariposa County High School basketball team.
The team’s head coach, Pierce Chaney, has reportedly also been arrested on suspicion felony child abuse and misdemeanor failure to report as a mandated reporter.
Chaney has not been charged with any sex crimes, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The investigation is active and ongoing. Due to the sensitive nature of the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office has not released any further details.
