Dual Gunshot Victims in Park Robbery Turn Attempted Murder Investigation

Incident: Strong Arm Robbery, Attempted Murder
On February 14, 2024, at approximately 11:39 PM, Officers of the Banning Police Department were dispatched to the area of Repplier Park for a 911 call and hang up. Upon arrival, officers searched the park and located two adult males on park grounds, each suffering from gunshots wounds.
The victims reported to the officers they had been shot by an unknown Hispanic male in his 30’s, with a thin build as he attempted to rob them at gunpoint. The suspect was last seen fleeing the area southwest through the park toward West George Street.
Both victims were transported to local area hospitals by ambulance for medical treatment. Banning Police Detectives were contacted and responded to the scene and assumed the investigation, which is ongoing.
The Banning Police Department is asking for the public’s help in obtaining any leads and any video footage that may have captured the suspect’s actions prior to the incident or after the incident, or any other information that may lead to the suspect’s identification and arrest.
