Two Arrested for Alleged Underage Drinking, Unlawful Firearm Possession

“On Monday 2/12/2024 at approximately 9:30PM, HPD officers responded to the area of 55 W Grant St. Officers went out with a group of 5 individuals, both adults and juveniles who were drinking alcohol underage. While speaking with the 5 individuals, an HPD officer observed a handgun in the bed of a pickup truck that the group was associated with. All individuals were detained, and it was discovered that the handgun was an un-serialized ghost gun with a loaded extended magazine and laser attached. Upon further investigation, an additional loaded magazine was discovered. While searching one of the juveniles, a concealed dirk or dagger was also recovered. The juvenile with the dirk/ dagger was arrested and transported to Sonoma County Juvenile Hall.

Bryan Medina (19) of Healdsburg and Jorge Sanchez (18) of Healdsburg were arrested and booked in the Sonoma County Jail on the following charges: 24640 PC (Possession of undetectable firearm), 32310(a) PC (Possession of large capacity magazine), 25850(a) PC (Carry loaded firearm in public), 273a(b) PC (Child endangerment), and 25662(a) BP (Minor in possession of alcohol).”
