“Officers from Northern Division were addressing community concerns in a local parking lot when they noticed a vehicle with an expired registration. Attempting to address the matter, the situation took an unexpected turn. The driver, refusing to cooperate by not rolling down his window, escalated a routine check into a significant incident.
Upon the arrival of additional officers and a supervisor, the individual exited his vehicle, brandishing an out-of-state police badge, mistakenly believing it would exempt him from further scrutiny. This was not the case. A closer inspection of his car, which bore no resemblance to standard law enforcement vehicles, uncovered illegal red and blue lights, a siren, and an air horn, alongside an unregistered firearm.
Further investigation revealed the man was not a sworn police officer but a former parking enforcement officer from another state. He was arrested and faces charges including impersonation of a police officer.”
