OAKLAND —The worst kind of law enforcement work is when a police officer must arrest another cop. An investigation of domestic violence involving a Vallejo police officer culminated in an arrest made by the Oakland Police Department. The officer was arrested on St. Valentine’s Day.
Open Vallejo reported the arrest of the Vallejo officer, who also previously worked for the Napa Police Department. Oakland investigators obtained an arrest warrant after meeting with a woman who said she was the victim. She reported the officer for allegedly committing domestic violence against her in Oakland. The officer/suspect was taken into custody on February 14 at 4:15 p.m.
Officer Ronald M. Dupree, 29, who lives in Dixon, is the suspect. Dupree was booked at the Alameda County Santa Rita Jail in Dublin. However, he is no longer listed among the inmates in the public jail roster.
Dupree joined Vallejo PD in October 2020, and he received two awards for police work. Following the domestic violence investigation and arrest, Dupree has been placed on paid administrative leave by the Vallejo Police Department.
Dupree faces charges for –
- Inflicting corporal injury on a spouse/cohabitant PC 273.5 (A)
- Making Threats of Violence with intent to terrorize PC 422 (A)
- Stalking PC 646.9 (A)
