School Safety Officer Arrested for Alleged Sexual Relationship with Student

“On 02/22/2024, the Madera Police Department became aware of a possible inappropriate sexual relationship between a Madera Unified School District employee and a juvenile high school student. Madera Police Department currently has three School Resource Officers (SRO), one assigned to each high school campus. The SRO gathered information from the school regarding the allegations and worked closely with our Detective’s for a swift and complete investigation into the matter. Information was received and confirmed that 21-year-old Kimberly Lorenzo who is employed with Madera Unified School District as a Substitute Safety Officer, was involved in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student. After a complete and thorough investigation, Kimberly Lorenzo was arrested and booked into the Madera County Jail on felony charges. We would like to thank the staff of Madera Unified School District for their continued partnership. Our children’s safety and well-being will continue to be both of our agency’s highest priorities.”
