Imperial County Sheriff’s Office and Partners Seize Over a Million Fentanyl Pills in 2023 Amidst Escalating Overdose Crisis

“The Imperial County Sheriff’s Office coordinating with our Border Crimes Suppression Team, (BCST), and High Intensity Drug Trafficking Agency, (HIDTA) has managed to seize 1.36 million pills of fentanyl in the year of 2023.

As the high influx of illegal fentanyl continues. The Sheriff’s Office would like to share some information provided by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, (DEA).

“The U.S. overdose crisis has reached a devastating new height with more than 107,000 people dying over the last year from drug overdoses. 68% of overdose deaths involved synthetic opioids, primarily fentanyl.” #OnePillCanKill
