On the evening of February 26th, 2024, at approximately 19:25 hours, Sutter County Deputies responded to a call originating from N Street in Live Oak. According to the report, an individual was spotted outside a residence brandishing a firearm. According to the reporting party, who utilized their Ring Camera Footage for documentation, the unidentified male was observed wielding a firearm, employing its tactical light as a makeshift flashlight. Prior to vacating the premises, the individual left behind a threatening note aimed at the family inhabiting the residence. The family, perplexed by the encounter, expressed no prior knowledge of any threats directed toward them.
Four Ring Camera images were submitted as evidence to aid in the investigation. Following an anonymous tip, authorities were able to ascertain the identity of the suspect as 29-year-old Javier Arteaga-Tinoco, a resident of Live Oak. A search warrant then promptly issued for Tinoco’s residence, yet initial efforts to locate him proved futile.
A pivotal breakthrough occurred on Thursday, February 29th, 2024, when Sutter County Deputies, acting on another anonymous tip, converged on the aforementioned residence linked to Tinoco. Officers established a perimeter around the premises and initiated a call-out to Tinoco. Simultaneously, the Special Enforcement Detail Team stood at the ready. After a brief interlude, Tinoco emerged from the residence and was promptly taken into custody without incident.
Subsequently, Tinoco was booked into the Sutter County Jail, marking the culmination of an intensive investigation. Sheriff Barnes expressed commendation for the unwavering dedication exhibited by his staff throughout the investigation. Moreover, he extended gratitude to the community for their invaluable assistance in identifying Tinoco.
