Grover Beach Police Utilize Drone in Arrest of Two Men in Stolen Vehicle Case
“Thursday morning, Grover Beach PD Officers were alerted to a vehicle that had been reported as stolen from Santa Maria. The vehicle was located in the area of 1500 W Grand Ave. A felony traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle in at S 16th Street and Longbranch Avenue. There were two occupants in the vehicle. Both subjects were taken into custody without incident. Due to the vehicle being occupied by two individuals, assistance was requested from Arroyo Grande Police Department and Pismo Beach Police Department.
We included a “drones eye view” of the interior of the vehicle as an example of how our drone was utilized to safely check the vehicle for additional occupants before officers made their approach. Great work done by all!
The driver Alejandro Hernandez, 29, of Nipomo, was arrested for 10851(A) CVC – Driving car without consent and the passenger Edward Learmont Roberts III, 33, of Arroyo Grande, was arrested for a bench warrant.”
