In the early hours of March 6, 2024, the Rialto Police Department responded to a 911 call about an attempted break-in at a business on the 400 block of S. Riverside Avenue. The call, received around 1:30 AM, reported three masked, armed individuals attempting to enter the establishment. Officers arriving at the scene apprehended three suspects fitting the descriptions provided, as they were entering a vehicle behind the business. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a .45 caliber handgun and methamphetamine, leading to the arrest of Devari Lamar Core, Jamil Marquis Banda, and Aayreon Devon Deshawn Heckard on charges of possession of a controlled substance while armed and separate firearm offenses.
Further investigation into the initial break-in report led officers to contact the business owner, who was unaware of any emergency call emanating from her establishment. With the safety of potential inside individuals uncertain, police conducted a search of the premises. This search led to the discovery of an illegal massage parlor operating within the business, involving illicit sexual activities for hire.
Two individuals, Ricky Ramirez and Maria Orellana, were arrested at the scene on charges related to solicitation of prostitution and pimping, respectively. A subsequent search warrant executed at the location yielded further evidence of the illicit operation. Code enforcement officials later declared the building unsafe for occupancy, highlighting the ongoing efforts of local authorities to address and dismantle illegal activities within the community.
